Antioxidant drinks are a great way to help us increase our fruits into our diet. They have become very popular because of the health benefits as well as the convenicnce that they offer. Over the past several years, we have learned so much about antioxidants and how important they are in removing harmful free radicals (or rust) from our body's healthy cells.

As we age, expose ourselves to excessive sunlight, and eat an abundance of processed foods, the more free radicals our body produces overtime. Research tells us that excessive free radicals in our body can increase our chances of accumulating chronic disease and many types of cancers.
Free radicals also big players in inflammation in the body which can cause high blood pressure and cholesterol. The best way to reduce and/or prevent free radicals a diet rich in antioxidants (fruits and vegetables). However, most of us do not consume enough of these fruits and vegetables to consuem enough antoxidants.

In order to compensate for the lack of nutrition, we need to find ways to consume fruits in a more convenient, taste-worthy, and cost effective way. This is why many of us are looking for additional ways to increase fruits consumption through antioxidant juices and other juices.
Of course, as a health professional I would encourage us to eat whole fruits, vegetables, and cut back on saturated fats in our diet but that is often easier said that done.
There are hundreds of drinks on the market today and determing which products are healthy can be quite challenging. Personally, I consume an juice high in antioxidants including the acai berry as well as 18 other fruits high in antioxidants.
